Word Cloud
Crowd-sourced live word cloud
👥 2–100 players⏱ 3–10 min
Objective
A Mentimeter-style live poll. The host poses a prompt and everyone submits short words or phrases that appear instantly in a shared cloud — the more people submit the same word, the bigger it grows. It's a fast, visual way to read the room.
How to play
- The host writes a prompt (e.g. “One word for this quarter”) and sets how many entries each person gets.
- Participants type words; they appear live in the cloud, sized by how often they're submitted.
- Matching words from different people merge and grow larger; the host can remove anything off-topic.
- When responses settle, the host finishes and the cloud is saved to the room's history.
Strategy
- Ask a focused, single-idea prompt — broad questions produce a scattered, unreadable cloud.
- Encourage one clear word over a long phrase so themes converge visibly.
- Use your extra entries to reinforce a theme you think matters.
Tips
- Perfect for icebreakers, retro sentiment, or a quick temperature check.
- Project the cloud on the call so everyone watches it form in real time.
- Hosts: leave it open ~30–60 seconds so latecomers can contribute.
Create a roomThe host picks the activity once everyone has joined the room.
