Two Truths & a Lie
Spot the bluff among the truths
👥 3–12 players⏱ 10–20 min
Objective
Each player writes three statements about themselves — two true, one false — and everyone else tries to spot the lie. You score by fooling others with your lie and by correctly catching theirs.
How to play
- Players each enter three statements and secretly mark which one is the lie.
- The host starts the guessing rounds, one player's statements at a time.
- Everyone except the author guesses which statement is the lie.
- The host reveals the answer; points go to correct guessers and to authors who fooled the room. Repeat for each author, then see the final scoreboard.
Strategy
- Make your lie boringly plausible and your truths surprisingly weird — people expect the strange one to be the lie.
- Anchor all three statements in the same tone and length so the lie doesn't stand out.
- When guessing, watch for over-explained statements; extra detail is often a cover story.
Tips
- Avoid lies that are easy to disprove with a quick search or a coworker's knowledge.
- A true-but-unbelievable fact is your secret weapon.
- Keep statements work-appropriate and kind.
